Hlasna Treban can celebrate it's first big victory. The team built on former Tatran players triumphed over Riga 2:3 and won the final. The Latvians, who had only previously achieved 5th place, reached the silver medal.

CSKA fielded a team that had reached the Czech Open semi-finals in 2008 and the addition of extraleague player Dusan Privara further strengthened it. And it was Privara, an attacker from Kladno, who took advantage of a free shot and shot the first goal.

However, the Riga team full of former national team players played more youthfully and had the upper hand - and took the lead. The mistake of Jiri Satoplet, whose pass across the playing field was intercepted right in front of the Czech goalpost by Bartins Brigmnanis, who proceeded to score. And that was not the end. Cooperating closely with his former teammate from the national team, Oskars Freimanis passed from the barrier to the MVP of the match Ainars Juskevics who, despite having his back turned towards the gate, scored with a fantastic backhand.
However, five seconds before halftime Privara took advantage of a penalty shot and hit the goalpost again. And the second half of the match saw fortune favour the Czech player - Privara scored with a hat trick, Hlasna players then went through a power play and overtime with flying colors and secured their victory.
